The Build & Deploy Team is part of the Core Group in our Product and Engineering Organization. The Core Group is on a mission to provide tools, services, infrastructure, and knowledge, aiming at a compelling internal product and engineering experience Wolt-wide.

Build & Deploy demands deep knowledge of pipelines and deployments to help all engineers at Wolt, supported by the tools and processes that enable them to build great features for Wolt’s users. It is the process of empowering developers and creating an environment of utmost efficiency and productivity. These efforts allow our engineers to serve themselves and have a non-eventful journey for the 40+ engineering teams at Wolt.

We are looking for a Team Lead passionate about creating exceptional build & deploy experiences and maximizing development efficiency. In this role, you will lead a team of Platform Engineers and collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive the development of innovative and efficient solutions. The ideal candidate will be an experienced team leader with a solid technical background in Platform and Backend Engineering and a proven track record of improving developer efficiency in fast-growing organizations.

As a Team Lead, you'll be an inspirer, facilitator, and enabler for the team to do what they do best by running the weekly cycle of the team, designing technical solutions, making personal development plans, hosting regular 1-on-1s, and taking part in recruitment. You’ll be driving the development of a top-quality Build & Deploy Platform and communicating effectively with the Wolt Product team at large.

The ideal candidate:

You are one of those unicorns, with both leadership experience and the capability to contribute hands-on.

• You have solid experience as a Platform Engineer, designing and implementing quality build and deploy pipelines and mastering the challenges of abstracting the infrastructure for engineers.
• You know cloud providers such as AWS and automation and provisioning tools such as Terraform, Spinnaker, Argo-family, Github Actions, Buildkite, Bazel, Gazelle, Harbor, Vault, Aviator, and Golang tools.
• You can drive a culture of continuous improvement, creativity, and innovation within the team and the wider organization.
• Your stakeholder management skills are excellent.
• You’ll be making personal development plans and hosting regular 1-on-1s to support the team’s growth and take part in recruitment. Good communication and collaboration skills are essential. You shouldn’t shy away from problems, and can constructively discuss them with your team and the Wolt Product team at large.
• You’re a dedicated and pragmatic person with a positive attitude, the ability to get outside of your comfort zone and demonstrate curiosity and willingness to continuously learning.
