Role Summary

As a System Engineer at TRATON R&D, you will join a dedicated team working on our Software Update and Diagnostic Capabilities. Our mission is to ensure that the ECUs in Trucks, Buses, and Industrial & Marine Engines for Scania, MAN, International, and VW Truck and Bus can be updated using cutting-edge technology. You will also be part of a larger Value Creation Team (VCT) – Software Update and Diagnostics – that supports Production Units, Service Markets, and R&D with tools and services for diagnostics and software updates. These services are key components in TRATON’s strategic areas of Connectivity, Cyber Security, and the Software Defined Vehicle (SDV).

We work in an agile way inspired by SAFe, with ten-week Program Increments. You will collaborate with skilled colleagues in a supportive and fun environment, with excellent opportunities for professional growth.

Job Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain software update and diagnostic capabilities for TRATON brands.

• Contribute to tools and services used by Production Units, Service Markets, and R&D.

• Work with microservices deployed in cloud architecture (AWS) with database storage.

• Collaborate in an agile environment following SAFe principles.

• Engage in cross-functional work across different TRATON brands and stakeholders.

Who You Are

You are a skilled and passionate software developer who thrives on creating solutions that bring real value to users, while ensuring high levels of uptime and reliability. You have solid experience working with • NET, C#, REST APIs, and AWS, and you’re comfortable operating in a DevOps environment using GitLab CI/CD. Your expertise spans both backend and frontend development, making you confident in working across the full stack.

It’s a bonus if you have experience with Angular, data storage solutions in AWS, or knowledge of Scania’s SESAMM7 electrical system. Familiarity with embedded systems in vehicles will also serve you well in this role. You’re fluent in English, both written and spoken, and if you also speak Swedish, that’s an advantage. Above all, you are curious, adaptable, and enjoy variety in your work — especially when it means exploring new technologies and solving challenging problems together with your colleagues.
