Assignment Overview

We are seeking a Senior Backend Developer for a consulting assignment in the automotive/IoT sector, on behalf of our client. The consultant will work with a small, agile team building AWS-based backend solutions with a serverless, event-driven architecture.

Assignment Summary

• This is a backend-focused role, centered around secure and scalable service development using Node.js, TypeScript, and AWS.
• The system is entirely event-driven and serverless, with AWS EventBridge as a central component.
• The team values clean code, automation, and short feedback loops.
• While frontend experience (e.g., React) is a bonus, it's not mandatory.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and maintain event-driven backend services using Node.js and TypeScript.
• Build and integrate AWS components such as Lambda, API Gateway, EventBridge, DynamoDB, and S3.
• Write and maintain automated unit and integration tests.
• Use AWS SAM for Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
• Collaborate with team members across frontend, DevOps, and product teams.
• Manage CI/CD pipelines via GitHub Enterprise and GitHub Actions.
• Integrate services with BSS/Telco platforms (e.g., billing, subscriptions).
• Participate in architectural discussions and code reviews.
• Promote a collaborative, open team environment built on transparency and accountability.

Required Skills & Experience

• Strong backend development with Node.js and TypeScript.
• Solid knowledge of AWS services with a focus on serverless, event-driven architecture.
• Experience working with EventBridge, Lambda, API Gateway, S3, DynamoDB.
• Proven expertise in writing unit and integration tests.
• Familiarity with GitHub Enterprise and GitHub Actions.
• Background in integrating or working with BSS/Telco systems.
• Comfortable in agile, cross-functional teams.
• Proficient in both English and Chinese/Mandarin.

Nice to Have

• Experience with React or other modern frontend frameworks.
• Familiarity with AWS SAM or similar IaC tools.
• Experience with IoT or automotive projects.
• Awareness of cloud security and data privacy best practices.
