Are you a seasoned HR professional with a passion for driving organizational success? SSAB Europe is seeking a dynamic and experienced Vice President & Head of People & Culture to lead our HR initiatives and contribute to our long-term business performance. Location Stockholm, Helsinki or any of our major SSAB sites.

About the position

As the Vice President & Head of People & Culture at SSAB Europe, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our Division HR strategy and ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures. You will lead and develop our HR organization, making SSAB an attractive workplace and employer. Reporting directly to the EVP, you will be a key member of the Division management team, contributing to strategic planning and decision-making. You will be the direct manager for two senior HR Managers who are heading the HR teams in Business Unit Sweden and Business Unit Finland.

Main responsibilities

  • Strategic HR leadership: Contribute to strategic planning and decision-making at the top divisional level to develop and implement a healthy organization aligned with SSAB's vision, values, and business objectives.
  • FTE development and cost management: Manage FTE development in the division, oversee personal cost levels, and handle planning and forecasting to ensure efficient resource allocation.
  • HR data management: Ensure accurate and timely HR reports, including headcount, FTE, sick leave, and short-term analyses, to support decision-making.
  • Compliance and labor relations: Oversee compliance with company standards, labor laws, and union relations, ensuring SSAB governance aligns with applicable codes and legislation.
  • Employer branding: Enhance SSAB's reputation as an attractive employer through effective HR strategies and initiatives.
  • HR organization development: Lead and develop the HR organization within SSAB Europe, ensuring long-term relevance and effectiveness.
  • Global HR contribution: Actively participate in the Global HR Management team, contributing to the overall strategic HR agenda and transformation initiatives.

About You

  • University degree in Human Resources or an equivalent field.
  • Solid corporate HR background with experience in HR partnering, business partnering, training, organizational development, compensation & benefits, and labor law.
  • Proven managerial and leadership skills with the ability to lead and develop a diverse HR team.
  • Strategic planning and decision-making ability at the top divisional level.
  • Strong understanding of labor laws, compliance standards, and union relations.
  • Proficiency in HR data management and reporting to support business decisions.
