We are seeking a highly skilled LIMS Data Architect to lead the design and development of our Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) data infrastructure.
This role plays a crucial part in ensuring our data environment is robust, secure, and aligned with business needs.
The position is remote-based in Sweden, with occasional travel required to client locations in Switzerland.
Key Responsibilities
- Design Data Infrastructure: Develop and maintain scalable, high-performance data architectures for LIMS and related systems.
- Data Modeling: Create conceptual, logical, and physical data models to support data analysis and operational reporting.
- Database Implementation: Install and configure information systems; oversee data migration from legacy systems.
- Data Security: Implement and monitor procedures to ensure the accuracy, security, and accessibility of data.
- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams to align data solutions with organizational and client objectives.
- Performance Monitoring: Conduct regular database audits and optimize system performance.
- Documentation: Produce detailed design documentation and technical reports.
- Data Strategy Development: Define and evolve a comprehensive data strategy to support current and future organizational goals.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with business users, data engineers, and other stakeholders to identify data requirements and implement solutions.
Qualifications
- Solid experience in data architecture, preferably in a LIMS or scientific data environment.
- Expertise in data modeling, integration, and database design.
- Proficiency with SQL and data management tools; familiarity with ETL and reporting solutions.
- Strong understanding of data governance, compliance, and security principles.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to document and explain complex concepts clearly.
- Comfortable working independently from a remote location and managing occasional international travel.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with LIMS platforms and laboratory data systems
- Familiarity with regulated environments (e.g., GxP, ISO standards)
- Knowledge of cloud data infrastructure (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud)
