Your focus will be on advancing our knowledge within cast aluminum to support the development of next-generation electrified and lightweight vehicle components.
You will bridge strategic research with real-world application, playing a leading role in building internal knowledge on how recycled aluminum and manufacturing processes affect component behavior.
Collaboration is key—you will interact cross-functionally with design, purchasing, and supplier quality departments, and act as a core representative in external partnerships with universities and institutes.
If you're motivated by transforming complex engineering challenges into scalable industrial solutions, this position offers the perfect platform to create real, long-term impact within the development of sustainable transport solutions
Job Responsibilities
As a Development Engineer within Cast Aluminium, you will be responsible for ensuring that Traton Group R&D maintains leading-edge knowledge of cast aluminum materials, from recycled input to component performance. Your work will focus on understanding the relationship between mechanical properties, alloying strategies, and casting processes in close collaboration with our design departments, purchasing, and supplier quality assurance. To accelerate our Battery Electric Vehicle development, we strive to focus on expanding our knowledge within the area of high-pressure die casting. Here you can make a significant impact.
As sustainability becomes increasingly critical, you will also investigate how recycled materials impact the performance of components. Knowledge will be acquired through internal and external research collaborations, and you will actively contribute to building our future strategies and technical expertise.
A key part of your role will also involve hands-on work in our state-of-the-art laboratory, conducting material investigations including metallography, fractography, and chemical analysis, as well as reporting your findings. When necessary, you will also coordinate investigations with external laboratories. This is a dynamic role where no two days are the same, offering a stimulating mix of research, practical application, and external collaboration.
Who You Are
