In region Gent-EU we operate the Central Distribution Center in Gent and the Support Distribution Centers across Europe, the Supply Planning teams, Dealer Inventory Management, Service Centers and Transport Management. We are on our way towards lean and digitalization. We are also increasing our focus on what really matters for our customers through flow thinking and cross-functional collaboration.

With our organization we offer Logistics Support and Inventory Management for all European VT&B and Penta dealers and customers. We also perform E2E Management of all flows to European and International DC’s and Customers

ROLE DESCRIPTION

In your role you are responsible for optimizing, designing and implementing our outbound and reverse transport flows. You also secure our carriers perform and deliver as agreed in the contract.

Key responsibilities include:

• In your function you own the transport set-ups to and from dealers in the Region, in close collaboration with the owners of the LSMM’s, who drive development of market-specific flows.
• You contribute to the SML 2030 Strategy by driving transport optimization (expressed in Cost, CO2 and Delivery Precision) through continuous improvement of the flows and implementation of purchasing projects.
• Manage carrier performance in line with contracted service levels.
• Secure management of data and information to deliver the above.

How you will be doing it:

• Many stakeholders in Service Market Logistics and the Business Areas are impacting or are impacted by transportation to and from the dealers. Secure stakeholder management around priority-setting, transport requirements and anchoring of decision-taking.
• You secure collaboration in SML (in Region Gent-Europe and with other Regions) and Business Areas to make sure optimization ideas are channeled into concrete improvement activities.
• You easily adapt your way of working to the needs at hand.
• Drive digital competence development of the people in your team, with a focus on data as that is a cornerstone of all your responsibilities.
• Drive team engagement in a quickly changing environment

Required knowledge/experience

• Managerial experience, preferably in a high pace or demanding logistics environment.
• Ability to navigate a complex stakeholder environment.
• Experience with problem solving and Lean.
• Strategic mindset.
• Ability to create simplicity in a complex environment.
• You are a communicative team player who values the full diversity of the team.
• High demonstrated interest in digitalization and data.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
