ALTEN is continuously looking for System Engineers to join our team and support clients within the automotive industry in Gothenburg. You will be part of projects working with electronic control systems and system functionality across the full product lifecycle — from early concept development to verification and implementation. ABOUT THE ROLE In this role, you will contribute to the development and evolution of control systems and functions across the full product lifecycle. The work spans from early concept and system design to verification, validation, and implementation in real products. You will work in a multicultural and collaborative environment, interacting with internal development teams, global sites, and suppliers. Depending on your background and experience, your responsibilities may include system architecture, function development, requirement management, verification & validation, and project coordination. MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES Develop and manage system and functional requirements Drive system architecture and technical solutions Lead or support smaller projects and technical deliveries Ensure alignment between product planning, system design, and software development Secure complete development flow from specification to verification and implementation Contribute to verification & validation activities, including test case creation (manual and automated) Collaborate with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders YOUR PROFILE We believe you are a driven and solution-oriented engineer with a strong technical foundation and leadership capability. You are comfortable navigating complex system environments and enjoy translating needs into robust technical solutions. We see that you have: M.Sc. or B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Embedded Systems, or similar Experience in system engineering within embedded software or control systems Experience from function development, software/system development, or verification & validation Understanding of system architecture and interfaces between subsystems Experience in requirement management tools (e.g., SystemWeaver or similar) Very good communication skills in English Meritorious: Experience with tools such as KOLA, SW Configurator, PEA2+, Vodia, or similar Experience working in agile development environments ABOUT ALTEN ALTEN is one of Europe’s largest engineering and IT consulting companies with over 57,000 employees in 30 countries.
