About The Role
As a Lab Automation Developer at TATAA, you will maintain laboratory software, including in-house solutions.
You will work cross-functionally with scientific and technical teams to optimize workflows, manage data, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards as well as leading implementation of protocol automation.
You will also be instrumental in the company’s active data strategy investment, outlining how AI and automation can improve data QC evaluations, report generation, internal knowledge database usage and more.
Preferred Qualifications and Potential Scope
A large part of our data analysis pipelines coordinate third party software, analyzing and interpreting data produced by the Laboratory Service team to deliver high end analyses for a wide range of NGS applications.
This is an opportunity to be part of TATAAs bioinformatics team working with customer focused analysis solutions, hands-on data analysis and consultation.
Your Essential Responsibilities Includes:
- Plan, implement, and manage software applications that support laboratory operations and data management.
- Monitor and ensure data security, privacy, and compliance with industry regulations and best practices (e.g.
GLP/GCLP and ISO 17025:
2017)
- Optimize and manage automation solutions for laboratory processes, including integration of lab instruments with automated data transfers.
- Collaborate with lab staff to program lab automation software for pipetting robots and other instruments to ensure efficient workflows.
- Manage end-to-end data workflows, including data ingestion, verification, formatting, and reporting.
- Implement database management systems, contributing to AI-based data analysis and offering solutions for deriving key scientific insights from lab data.
- Stay informed about emerging technologies, trends, and best practices relevant to laboratory automation, incorporating them into the company's infrastructure when appropriate.
- Develop and maintain new bioinformatic solutions for NGS and affinity-based proteomics and q/dPCR assays.
- Validate and update computational methods in internal analysis pipelines.
- Integration and automation of analyses on cloud.
- Data review and processing, incl. pre-/clinical data.
- Drive the execution and delivery of data and analysis by collaborating closely with project managers, laboratory scientists, quality assurance and other internal teams.
Requirements – Who You Are:
- Hold a master’s degree in information technology, computer science, biology, bioinformatics or a related field, with more advanced degrees being a plus.
The ideal candidate should have experience and expertise in software engineering and programming for relevant lab automation.
- Possess strong knowledge of software applications within laboratories and scientific environments.
- Demonstrate an understanding of laboratory workflows and data management.
- Proficiency in programming languages (pref.
Python and SQL).
Experience with liquid handling programming is beneficial.
- Understand cloud solutions and implementations.

Demonstrate expertise in data security and privacy regulations and other relevant compliance standards such as GLP/GCLP and ISO 17025:
2017.
- Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with IT team members, lab team members, vendors, and other stakeholders.
- Have a strategic mindset and show proficiency in project management, with a track record of leading projects from initiation to delivery and meeting project deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to troubleshoot issues, design innovative solutions, and implement them effectively.
- Capacity to assess technology trends and make informed recommendations, as well as commit to continuous learning and staying updated on the latest advancements relevant to our laboratory operations.
- Possess a strong self-motivational drive for shared success within the team and the company.
