Overview: The Quality Engineer (or QA/QC Engineer) is responsible for establishing and maintaining a quality management system throughout the project lifecycle to ensure the final product meets all quality standards and client requirements. Quality Control in a civil industrial plant requires a blend of technical expertise, practical skills, and soft skills. Key requirements include a strong understanding of construction processes, inspection techniques, and quality standards. Effective communication, problem-solving, and the ability to interpret technical drawings are also crucial. Formal education and relevant experience in civil engineering or construction are generally expected.

Minimum 15 Years of experience required on industrial plants, particularly within the civil or construction sector, is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement the Quality Control Plan and inspection procedures.
• Inspect the quality of incoming materials for use in the project.
• Monitor work processes and outcomes at each stage to ensure compliance with standards.
• Create and maintain quality inspection records and issue Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs).
• Coordinate with all parties to resolve quality-related issues.
• Conduct final testing and inspections before project handover.
• Identifying and documenting non-conformities and working with the project team to resolve them.
• Providing training and guidance to construction personnel on quality-related matters.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

· A thorough understanding of civil engineering principles, construction methods, and materials is essential.

· Proficiency in various inspection methods and the use of relevant tools (e.g., measuring instruments, testing equipment) is critical.

· Ability to accurately read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and construction plans.

· Familiarity with relevant industry standards, codes, and regulations (e.g., ISO 9001, local building codes).

· Skills in analysing data to identify trends, assess product quality, and make informed decisions.

· Competence in conducting various tests and measurements to ensure materials and work meet quality requirements.

· Ability to identify, analyse, and resolve quality-related issues that arise during construction.

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills to report findings. recommendations, and collaborate with project teams.

· Meticulousness in inspecting work, identifying defects, and ensuring adherence to quality standards.

· Ability to collaborate effectively with engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders.

· In some roles, leadership skills to guide and supervise QC teams and ensure consistent quality across the project.

· A bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related field is required.

· Experience in civil construction of projects, quality control, or related roles is highly valued.
