ValueOne is seeking a Category Specialist for an assignment with one of our clients in the energy sector based in Västerås. The assignment is scheduled to begin in October and will continue until March 2026.

The role   As a Category Specialist you will work within the categories Software and Licenses.  You will focus on building supplier relationships, analyzing data and managing procurement projects independently.

Main tasks:

  • Manage sourcing activities, including handling requests for quotation and placing purchase orders.
  • Build and maintain supplier relationships with a focus on forecasting and continuous improvement.
  • Analyze material consumption and ensure accurate updates of master data.
  • Monitor market trends that affect availability and pricing of software and related services.
  • Support the Category Manager in procurement processes and co-negotiate contracts with internal stakeholders.

 

Experience and competencies   To succeed in this role, you should have experience of procurement in the manufacturing industry, preferably within IT-related categories such as software and licenses. Strong proficiency in both English and Swedish, spoken and written, is highly preferred. A post-secondary education in purchasing or logistics is considered a merit, as is familiarity with SAP and tools like Power BI and Excel.
