About the Position

We're looking for an experienced, data-driven individual contributor to guide and grow Planboo’s Data Analytics and AI capabilities. As Data Analytics and AI Analyst, you’ll develop and deploy analytics, machine learning and AI models that will support Planboo in the scaling of biochar projects across the Global South.

Planboo currently supports 9 active projects and has bold goals to scale to over 100 by 2030 — increasing annual carbon removal from 1,500 to 50,000 tonnes. This role is central to turning that vision into reality.

You’ll work closely with project developers, tech, supply, and leadership teams to ensure models developed support the scalability and integrity of Planboo’s MRVin platform. You'll develop scalable machine learning models, evaluate and test new technologies for improved data analysis and support our Data Integrity Board to continuously improve the quality and integrity of credits generated MRVin.

In this role, you’ll:

• Approve and manage data records to support carbon credit generation.
• Develop and improve ML/AI models to automate approvals and ensure data accuracy.
• Build advanced models for carbon credit scoring, biochar production, and other core areas, helping integrate them into Planboo’s MRVin platform.

What we're looking for:

Professional Experience:

5+ years in data analytics, machine learning, AI, or related project delivery, preferably in contexts such as:

• International development or NGO projects
• Renewable energy, sustainable agriculture, or climate-tech
• Engineering, infrastructure, or logistics involving multi-stakeholder coordination

Technical Expertise:

• Proficiency with analytical tools and programming languages and experience deploying machine learning or AI models in production.

Cross-Cultural Communication:

• Skilled communicator comfortable working across geographies, cultures, and time zones; experience in or with the Global South is a strong plus.

Domain Passion:

• Genuine interest in climate action, sustainable agriculture, or carbon removal, with motivation to contribute to large-scale climate impact.
