Arbetsbeskrivning

Code is the backbone of great games. Build what others play

We are looking for a curious and experienced engineer to join our backend team in Gothenburg. This role is flexible depending on your profile:

  • Backend Engineer with a strong DevOps focus
  • DevOps Engineer focused full-time on infrastructure, automation, and reliability

In both cases, you will help shape the systems that power our games, ensure stability at scale, and collaborate across teams to drive technical excellence. You will be part of a team that values shared decisions, open collaboration, and continuous learning.

Who we are

Solidicon is a leading software development company in the iGaming industry. We build innovative games and systems that captivate players and push technical boundaries. From crash games to classic casino titles, our products combine creativity, data, and tech into thrilling experiences for users across the globe.

We are a tight-knit team of 29 based in Gothenburg, working together with curiosity, ambition, and a shared love for building great stuff. We believe great ideas can come from anywhere and that the best results happen when decisions are made together, with open minds and low egos.

Our culture is built on respect and collaboration. We support one another, share what we know, and celebrate each other’s wins. A positive atmosphere is something we actively maintain because we know it drives creativity, well-being, and great work.

Our vision: Setting hearts racing around the world, one thrilling game at a time.

About the role

As part of our backend platform team, you will either:

  • Backend with DevOps focus: Design and maintain backend services that support game logic, player data, and B2B integrations. At the same time, you will help drive improvements in cloud infrastructure, monitoring, and deployment pipelines.
  • Fully DevOps: Take ownership of infrastructure, CI/CD, observability, and scaling systems across global cloud environments. You will work to ensure high uptime and performance across all production systems.

We value both paths and will tailor responsibilities depending on your strengths.

You will work mainly from our office on Avenyn in Gothenburg, with flexible remote work options.

What you will do
  • Design, develop, and maintain backend services and/or cloud infrastructure
  • Ensure uptime, scalability, and performance across Azure, Kubernetes, and GCP
  • Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines, observability, and monitoring
  • Troubleshoot issues in live environments and implement long-term fixes
  • Contribute to architecture decisions and technical planning
  • Collaborate with other engineers, game teams, and stakeholders to align technical solutions with business needs
  • Share knowledge and best practices to strengthen the overall team
What you bring

We are looking for someone with either mid-level or senior-level experience. You might not know everything yet, but you are confident in your skills, eager to grow, and ready to take ownership of your work.

  • Professional experience in software engineering and/or cloud infrastructure
  • Programming skills in something like C#, Node.js or similar
  • Experience with Azure, Kubernetes, Google Cloud or similar platforms
  • Familiarity with databases like MongoDB and MySQL
  • Comfortable with tools such as Git, Visual Studio, JetBrains, Postman and modern CI/CD systems
  • A structured mindset, clear communication style, and willingness to collaborate
  • Fluency in English (Swedish is a plus but not required)
  • Based in or near Gothenburg, or open to relocating
What we offer

At Solidicon, you will join a respectful and collaborative team that believes the best outcomes happen when everyone feels empowered to contribute. We take pride in making decisions together, listening to each other’s perspectives, and creating an environment where ideas can be challenged and explored without fear.

You will also enjoy:

  • Competitive salary and bonus program
  • 30 days of paid vacation
  • Private health insurance and a yearly health checkup
  • Paid parental leave
  • 10,000 SEK annual education allowance
  • One personal development week per year
  • 5,000 SEK wellness allowance
  • In-office massage every other week
  • Weekly company workout sessions
  • Option to lease a bike through Solidicon at a discounted rate
  • Daily breakfast, free drinks, and snacks
  • Regular afterworks, team lunches, and 1 to 2 company trips per year
  • A culture of innovation, optimism, and continuous learning
We invest in your growth

At Solidicon, personal development is not just encouraged – it is structured into your year. All team members have access to:

One paid personal development week per year – a whole week dedicated to exploring new tools, technologies, and ideas. For example, our engineers have used it to:

  • Experiment with scalable game server architecture in Kubernetes
  • Deepen their understanding of game math and performance optimization
  • Explore rendering techniques to improve real-time visuals

An annual 10,000 SEK education allowance – to fuel your curiosity. Previous uses include:

  • Online courses on software performance and clean code
  • Licenses for personal experimentation in new game engines
  • Technical books and tools that sharpen backend skills

We value learning and trust that investing in people’s curiosity leads to stronger, more innovative systems.
