Arbetsbeskrivning

Scania's R&D department is transforming to become part of TRATON Group R&D. TRATON is a group of strong brands with a shared mission: transforming transportation together to create the future of sustainable transport solutions. Within TRATON, we include MAN, Scania, Volkswagen Truck & Bus, and International. As part of a global team of industry experts, you get to think bigger, experience more, and reach further. Together, we have the power to transform transportation.

Our values – customer first, respect, team spirit, responsibility, and elimination of waste – are at the heart of everything we do.

Role Summary

Are you a mechanic who enjoys programming in your spare time? Or an engineer with a strong interest in vehicles? Alternatively, do you see this as an exciting new development opportunity? Then you might be the one we’re looking for!

We are looking for someone who is service-oriented and enjoys combining theory, practice, and problem-solving. As a Method Engineer, you will be responsible for diagnostic and troubleshooting support for TRATON AB’s products, with a primary focus on one or more areas such as powertrain, cab systems, or troubleshooting connected vehicle services. TRATON AB includes Scania, MAN, International, and Volkswagen Truck & Bus.

Job Responsibilities

To make our workshop tool usable across all TRATON AB brands, we are expanding two of our teams – Chassis, Cab and Body Diagnostics (TGROSVC) and Powertrain Diagnostics (TGROSVP).

Your role involves developing diagnostic and troubleshooting support in close collaboration with system and function owners. As a diagnostic method engineer, you are the voice of the mechanics in development projects, and your deliveries have a direct impact on their daily work, which is crucial for the profitability of both TRATON AB and our customers.

You will develop diagnostic methods, implement and test them on rigs and in vehicles. You will operate at the intersection of mechatronics, software development, and business decisions.

We have just launched our new cloud-based troubleshooting tool, Scania Workshop Suite, which presents great opportunities to work with system developers to improve what will become the mechanics’ new tool. You will help take troubleshooting support on this new platform to the next level!

Who You Are

To succeed in this role, you need to be driven, curious, proactive, and quality-conscious. Since the role involves many interfaces, you should be good at building relationships, be attentive, and understand what is important to the customer. You are structured and good at prioritizing and planning your work.

We hire for attitude and train for competence!

We believe you have:

- Minimum category B driver’s license

- Fluent in Swedish and English, both written and spoken

- Strong interest in or curiosity about programming

We also believe you have a bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechatronics, mechanical engineering, or a similar field, or experience working with system development, vehicle systems, or programming.

Hands-on experience with vehicles or previous work at TRATON AB or Scania is a plus.

We welcome applicants from all backgrounds – your unique experience and perspectives is valuable to us.

This Is Us

Within TRATON Group R&D, you are an important part of something bigger. Joining us means gaining access to the ins and outs of the entire transportation industry. As part of a global team of industry experts, you get to think bigger, experience more, and reach further. Being bigger also means being stronger. Together with our brands, we have the collective power to transform transportation.

We Offer

We offer a dynamic, flexible workplace with hybrid work options, including Scania Sergel and Midway hubs. With a structured development plan and courses, TRATON Group R&D supports your career growth both locally and internationally.

Benefits include wellness allowance, TRATON result bonus, flexible hours, and company car leasing. We also hosts events for employees and their families, and Stockholm residents enjoy direct access to Södertälje via Scania Job express buses.

Your application should include a CV and any relevant certificates. We welcome all applicants and strive for diversity in our recruitment processes.

Apply as soon as possible, no later than 2025-09-19. Screening will take place on an ongoing basis during the application period. Logical and personality tests may be used as part of the selection process, and a background check may be required for this role.
