Core Services is our platform team, and their mission is to ensure that the core application framework of Engage is reliable, scalable, and ready for the future. While their primary customers are other development teams, their work also touches our end users in important areas like authentication. If you enjoy being the “spider in the web” in a complex, business-critical area, this is the role for you. About the role and day-to-day As the next Software Engineer in Team Core Services, you’ll play a central part in making sure Engage continues to scale, modernize, and deliver high value for both developers and customers. This means working in a complex environment where you’ll face challenges across backend, infrastructure, and large-scale data flows but also get the freedom to take ownership and drive impactful improvements. Some things you’ll be up to: • Supporting other development teams by building and maintaining core services in Engage. • Future-proofing our architecture by evolving the monolith into a modular monolith. • Working hands-on with backend, databases, event handling, and infrastructure. • Exploring improvements that make life easier for all development teams – for example, tenant management, credential storage, and secure event handling. So, who are you? We believe you are an experienced developer with a problem-solving mindset who enjoys tackling complex systems and creating solutions that benefit the bigger picture. You value collaboration, knowledge sharing, and continuous learning, but you also have the independence and drive to take ownership of your work. You probably recognize yourself in this: • Solid experience with • NET (any version, ideally both Framework and newer versions such as • NET 8/9). • Comfortable working with larger, complex backend systems. • Database experience (no specific version required). • Exposure to cloud platforms (Azure or AWS). Experience with high-volume services is more important than knowing a specific provider. • A generalist mindset with interest across backend, integrations, and infrastructure. • Experience with event-driven architectures or real-time integrations is a plus. We think you’ll thrive in this role if you’re curious, proactive, and eager to learn. You enjoy collaborating with others, take ownership of your work, and are motivated by solving problems that impact the whole product.
