Context
The Institut Laue-Langevin (ILL), situated in Grenoble, France, is Europe's leading research facility for fundamental research using neutrons. The ILL operates the brightest neutron source in the world and hosts over 2000 visits by scientists per year, who come to carry out world-class research.
Come and join the three-person team of electricians in the ILL's Building and Site Maintenance Service, part of the Projects and Techniques Division, which is responsible for providing and developing the building and site maintenance services to meet the requirements for a first-class institution for scientific research.
Your tasks
Install and commission electrical equipment, using assembly drawings and diagrams, in accordance with safety regulations and industry best practice
Install and connect wires/cables, equipment and cable trays
Connect wires/cables to the electrical panels for the installations (distribution board, general low-voltage switchboard, control panel, etc.)
Perform all or part of commissioning for low and high-voltage equipment
Perform new work as well as alterations, upgrades, extensions and modifications to ensure installation compliance in the event of changes to regulations
Perform maintenance and troubleshooting of electrical equipment, where necessary.
Your profile
You have a Level 3 qualification (NVQ, City & Guilds, apprenticeship or equivalent) in electrical installations.
Professional experience as an industrial electrician is desirable (5 or more years). Motivated candidates with less experience will also be considered.
You have good organisational skills and are able to work quickly. You are an excellent team player with an ability to use your own initiative.
You are punctual, reliable and are able to work to schedule and respect working hours.
