That little click on a Radio Receiver (ADS-B) Support Specialist ad?

Flightradar24 has a rapidly growing network of tens of thousands radio receivers (ADS-B), hosted by volunteers in 200+ countries.
The receivers collect positional data transmitted by aircraft and upload it to Flightradar24’s servers.
This data is at the heart of the industry-leading flight tracking service we provide to millions of consumers and hundreds of companies.
We are looking for a tech-savvy and service-minded individual to join our Support team to help our receiver hosts with both hardware and software related issues.
The main goals are maximizing the up-time and coverage from the receivers and keeping the aviation enthusiasts and professionals around the world who upload data to us excited and engaged.
The position requires that you are able to work from our office in Stockholm, Sweden.
Relocation is not offered for this role.
What you’ll do
- Help out our community by providing tech support for our ADS-B radio receivers
- both hardware and software
- Keep an eye on receivers that come back to us, make repairs where you can, and get them running again
- Spot a bug?
Write it up clearly and pass it along to our dev team so they can fix it
- Reach out to our data sharers, offering tips and support to keep their receivers online and covering as much airspace as possible
- Hang out in our online forum, join the conversations, and share your expertise
- Be the voice for better ADS-B hardware and software
- always looking for ways we can make our data sharing experience even better
Who you are
- You really like helping people and know how to turn tech support into a “wow” experience for our data sharers
- You’re comfortable with Linux and have hands-on experience with Raspberry Pi devices
- You’re curious about consumer electronics, enjoy troubleshooting, and are always eager to explore new tech
- You have excellent English skills both written and spoken and can communicate clearly and confidently
Good-to-haves
- Experience setting up and configuring radio receiver equipment, ideally ADS-B receivers
- Skilled in hand-soldering
- Background in customer support
- Interest in aviation (knowing the difference between an A320 and a 737 is brag-worthy here)
- Proficiency in another major language in addition to English.
Preferably Spanish and/or Portuguese
- Experience of keeping forums active and friendly
