We are seeking a Technical and R&D Program Manager to lead strategic technical activities and manage Absolicon’s participation in cutting-edge European research and innovation projects. This role combines leadership in engineering operations with oversight of R&D collaborations, ensuring our solutions remain at the forefront of solar thermal technology. The successful candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams, consortium partners, and customers to deliver high-impact technical outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and coordination across engineering, product development, and project delivery functions.
• Oversee Absolicon’s technical participation in European R&D projects, ensuring alignment with project objectives, timelines, and funding requirements.
• Coordinate the integration of mechanical, thermal, and control systems in solar collector solutions.
• Drive innovation by collaborating with R&D teams on new designs, prototypes, and technology integration.
• Support installation teams, troubleshoot technical challenges, and provide field engineering guidance.
• Ensure compliance with international quality, safety, and certification standards.
• Foster strong relationships with research institutions, industrial partners, customers, and suppliers.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives across engineering processes, tools, and workflows.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical, Energy, Mechatronics, or related engineering discipline (Master’s or PhD preferred).
• Significant experience in senior engineering, technical management, or R&D leadership roles, ideally in renewable energy or industrial systems.
• Demonstrated track record in managing European or international R&D collaborations.
• Experience in developing SHIP projects in Latin America is an advantage.
• Strong understanding of solar thermal technologies, heat transfer, and system integration.
• Excellent communication skills in English; proficiency in another EU language is an advantage.
• Proven leadership, problem-solving, and organizational abilities.
• Ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary and multicultural environments.
