We are now looking for an IT Specialist to ensure smooth technological operations across our mills and offices situated throughout Poland. Join our team and play a central role in maintaining and enhancing our technological infrastructure, ensuring that SSAB continues to lead in the steel industry. Location is Żórawina or Oborniki

About the position

As an IT Specialist at SSAB Poland, you'll be at the forefront of ensuring that our mills and offices operate seamlessly in a digitalized environment. You will be responsible for delivering top-tier IT support on-site, managing our diverse operating systems, and overseeing crucial server functionalities. This role is crucial in ensuring that technological interruptions do not hamper our mission of producing high-quality steel solutions.

Your role goes beyond mere troubleshooting; you'll be a pivotal part of ensuring that our technological infrastructure remains robust and resilient, catering to the present and future demands of our dynamic industry.

Main responsibilities

  • Providing immediate on-site IT support, diagnosing and resolving both hardware and software issues to minimize downtime.
  • Managing and troubleshooting Windows operating systems, ensuring that our desktops and servers are running efficiently and securely.
  • Administering and managing our Office 365 suite. Whether it's configuring Outlook, setting up SharePoint sites, or assisting users with Teams, your expertise will ensure our workforce remains productive and collaborative.
  • Overseeing our networking infrastructure, from setting up LANs and WLANs to ensuring secure and efficient IP protocol configurations.
  • Taking charge of Windows server configurations, maintenance, and troubleshooting, ensuring data availability and security.
  • Applying ITIL best practices and processes in day-to-day operations to ensure structured, efficient, and high-quality IT service delivery.
  • Utilizing and managing ticketing systems such as ServiceNow for incident, request, and change management.
  • Engaging directly with end-users, understanding their challenges, and providing solutions in a timely manner. Your fluency in both Polish and English will be instrumental in this.
  • While the primary location of work may be based at a specific mill or office, the role involves regular traveling to various SSAB sites within Poland & Czech Republic to provide IT support and services.


You have

  • A Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field is essential. Advanced degrees or certifications, especially those focused on Windows systems, Office 365, or ITIL, will be an advantage.
  • Proficiency in Windows operating systems and Office 365 administration is a must.
  • Experience with server management, network configurations and protocols, and ticketing systems such as ServiceNow.
  • Solid understanding of ITIL principles and IT service management processes.
  • Fluency in both Polish and English, with the ability to communicate effectively in both written and spoken forms.
  • Willingness to engage in domestic and occasional international travel as the job demands.
