Consultant Radiologist - Telemark Hospital, Norway Are you a radiologist looking for an exciting opportunity in a forward-thinking department where artificial intelligence (AI) is becoming part of everyday clinical practice? Telemark Hospital in Norway is seeking new colleagues to join our Section for Radiologists. We invite you to become part of a highly skilled and welcoming team, working with advanced imaging diagnostics and playing a key role in patient care pathways. About the Position: You will join a dynamic and supportive team of 24 consultant radiologists and 9 residents. Our department performs a wide range of diagnostic imaging procedures, from routine examinations to advanced interventions, comparable to those at larger university hospitals. We are proud to be early adopters of AI in radiology, currently using BoneView in daily practice, and we are actively exploring additional AI tools to enhance diagnostic accuracy and efficiency. We use Agfa Impax PACS and RIS, and by 2027, we will transition to the Sectra RIS/PACS. About the Department: The Radiology Department at Telemark Hospital is part of the Medical Services Clinic and includes five sections across four locations: Kragerø, Porsgrunn, Skien, and Notodden. In total, the department has approximately 126 full-time staff. For more information about working with us, visit: https://www.sthf.no/om-oss/jobbe-hos-oss Job description: - Perform and interpret radiological examinations across all modalities offered at the department(MRI, CT, Ultrasound, X-ray) - Contribute to teaching, supervision, and professional development within the team - Collaborate in interdisciplinary teams to ensure holistic and patient-centered care - Participate in the on-call rotation (currently a 12-part schedule) - Support the department's continuous improvement initiatives Skills: - Norwegian medical license and specialist certification in radiology. Norwegian authorization to practice as a medical doctor. The process is managed by the Norwegian Directorate of Health and includes verification of your medical education and credentials. (We can help you with this). - General experience with X-ray, CT, MRI, and ultrasound - Proficiency in Norwegian or another Scandinavian language, both written and spoken, to ensure safe and effective clinical practice. - Ability to work independently and collaboratively across professions - Strong communication skills, both written and verbal - Ability to build and maintain positive relationships in the workplace - Professionally engaged, proactive, and responsible for own learning - Service-minded, structured, and conscientious - Shares our core values: quality, respect, and safety - Contributes to a positive and inclusive work environment - Personal suitability will be emphasized The standard working hours are from 07:30 to 16:00, monday through friday. Consultants (radiologists) follow a 12-part rotation schedule that includes both on-site duty and on-call responsibilities. During on-call shifts, the consultant is on active duty from 11:00 to 22:00, followed by passive on-call duty from home overnight. The following day, the working hours are adjusted to 07:00 to 12:00 to accommodate the extended shift. As part of the rotation, consultants are scheduled to work two out of every twelve weekends. The average weekly working time is approximately 44 hours. The hospital is situated in a region that spans across four different cities. While some rotation between these locations may be expected, the primary workplace will be at the hospital in Skien. Rotational duties are planned and coordinated to ensure continuity of care and professional development across sites, while maintaining Skien as the main base of operations. Starting date: The position is expected to commence as soon as practically possible, and once all required qualifications and conditions have been met. Salary: Compensation and working conditions are in accordance with the agreements between the Norwegian Medical Association (Legeforeningen) and Spekter, ensuring fair remuneration for on-call duties, weekend shifts, and work performed outside regular hours. For a full-time position (100%), the current minimum annual salary is NOK 969,200 per year. In addition, an individual supplement of NOK 135,000 per year is provided. Further compensation is granted for on-call duties and extended working hours. Additional information: Assistance with relocation and housing if needed
