Are you passionate about quality, problem-solving, and making a real impact on production performance? This is an interesting role for someone who enjoys bridging the gap between quality and factory operations regarding direct materials.
As Swedish Match continues to develop new products and processes, we are looking for a communicative problem-solver with an analytical and structured mindset. As Material Quality Technician you will ensure that Direct Materials (DIMs) used in production meet established quality standards. This involves inspecting, testing, and documenting raw materials and packaging to identify defects and ensure they conform to specifications. You will play a crucial role in preventing defective products from reaching the market by maintaining quality control throughout the production process. The role bridges the gap between factory operations and quality. You will work closely with our Quality Center of Excellence team, R&D, production and engineering teams.
Based at our Gothenburg site, you will be part of our factory organization and report to Site Quality Manager.
Main responsibilities
Support to Manufacturing
• Assist in new material trials and launches.
• Provide timely support during production disruptions caused by DIM issues.
• Ensure support in order to improve DIM performance and its impact on product quality, machines efficiency and production costs.
Data Collection and Analysis
• Ensure data & trend analysis on DIM performance is established in order to evaluate and deploy improvement opportunities.
• Record test results and transform data into actionable information through reporting
Deviation & Non-Conformity Management
• Provide immediate support during quality issues and apply Root Cause Analysis (RCA).
• Create and implement corrective action plans to mitigate production impact.
• Handle intermediate and finished product non-conformities (NC) and related corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs).
Quality System Compliance
• Ensure adherence to our Quality Management System (QMS).
• Act as the site lead for Internal Management Information (IMI) processes and methods.
• Stay up to date with relevant legislation and regulations and with quality standards and quality control strategies.
Your profile
• Post-secondary education or equivalent relevant experience
• Minimum 2 years of experience in Quality/Manufacturing departments in Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG), materials, tobacco or food industry.
• Understanding of production processes and lean manufacturing principles is an advantage.
• Knowledge and experienced in statistical tools, data analysis, and reporting.
• Fluent in both Swedish and English (written and spoken).
