Assignment Description:
We are looking for a Senior Interior Mechanical Design Engineer to join our dynamic team.
What you will work on:
- Design and develop interior components with a focus on aesthetics, fit, and structural integrity
- Contribute to the engineering of interior systems, primarily for trains or aircraft, with flexibility for candidates from the automotive sector
- Collaborate with the customer’s existing design team to support an increasing number of product variants
- Work with materials such as aluminum sandwich panels, and contribute to the evaluation and implementation of alternative materials like composites
- Solve complex design challenges, including flexible panel mounting solutions that meet fire safety and visual standards
- Utilize Catia V5/3DEXperience for 3D modeling, drawing creation, and design documentation
- Ensure the quality and accuracy of design deliverables in accordance with industry and customer standards
- Support cross-functional communication with manufacturing, quality, and engineering teams to ensure seamless integration of design work
- Participate in design reviews and propose innovative solutions for continuous improvement
What you bring:
- Proven experience in mechanical design of interior components, preferably within the rail, aerospace, or automotive industries
- Strong knowledge of Catia V5 and/or 3DEXperience for parametric modeling and complex assembly management
- Hands-on experience with aluminum sandwich panel design and understanding of fire safety requirements
- Familiarity with composite materials and their application in interior structures is an advantage
- Ability to design for flexibility, ease of assembly, and high visual quality
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail in fit, finish, and functionality
- Capability to collaborate effectively in a team environment and adapt to evolving design needs
- Fluent communication skills in English, both written and verbal
