As a Payroll Manager you will be responsible for managing in-house payroll and collaborating with local payroll providers. About the role
As a Payroll Manager you will have a team of four payroll professionals, three located in Malmö and one in Copenhagen. You belong to the People function and have various stakeholders, both internal and external. You own the full payroll cycle and are responsible for ensuring that payroll is accurate, timely and compliant with local laws and regulations throughout our markets. To map, shape and improve our processes and ways of working within Payroll and project lead Payroll-related projects is within your mission.
Key responsibilities include:
• Deliver accurate, compliant and timely payroll throughout our markets.
• Own the full payroll cycle, from pre-payroll administration and controls to processing and post-payroll reporting.
• Oversee outsourced payroll providers, ensuring full compliance with local tax and labor laws.
• Report payroll data and metrics to internal and external stakeholders, including authorities, in a timely and compliant manner.
• Act as the subject-matter expert for payroll legislation and proactively share regulatory updates with key stakeholders.
• Manage pension and insurance processes across Sweden, Denmark, and Finland, including invoice reconciliation and vendor oversight.
• Lead and maintain payroll systems for SD Works and travel/expense reporting (Skovik)
• Support training and knowledge sharing for managers and employees on payroll and expense processes.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with People, Finance, Accounting, Business Control, and Legal.
• Driving process improvements and evaluating automation opportunities
• External reporting to local authorities.
• Allocate responsibilities across employee groups and markets
• Support audits, reporting, and year-end reconciliations
• Leading or supporting payroll-related projects
• Act as a system owner for our payroll systems and travel/expense reporting (Skovik)
What we are looking for:
• Relevant education within Payroll or similar
• Hands-on experience with payroll systems
• At least 10 years of experience in a similar role working in a consumer-centric industry
• Fluent in English and at least one Nordic language
• Solid knowledge of payroll and tax legislation in Sweden, Denmark, Finland, and Norway.
• Strong stakeholder collaboration skills
• A structured and organized approach to work
• A collaborative mindset and ability to work cross-functionally
