Department of Medical Microbiology, Haugesund Hospital The Department of Medical Microbiology is part of the Laboratory Medicine Division under the Clinic for Medical Services and Emergency Preparedness at Helse Fonna. Our laboratory is beautifully located in the new southwest wing with stunning views of Smedasundet and the ocean. We have implemented advanced new technology with a high degree of automation and digital solutions - and we are continuously evolving. We are looking for dedicated Specialist Biomedical Laboratory Scientists for permanent full-time daytime positions. The work schedule includes some Saturday and public holiday shifts, shared between biomedical laboratory scientists according to a duty plan. You will join a skilled and motivated team with an excellent work environment and close interdisciplinary collaboration. We value social interaction and arrange frequent social activities, including an annual Christmas party. Work tasks include: -Participate in daily laboratory work, including blood sampling -Contribute to quality assurance and improvement activities -Operate and maintain medical-technical equipment -Follow current procedures and guidelines and stay updated on changes -Perform delegated tasks from the lead biomedical engineer -Keep professionally updated and take part in courses, internal training, and meetings -Provide training and supervision for students and new employees Qualifications -Authorized Biomedical Laboratory Scientist in Norway -Other relevant education and experience may be considered -Experience or knowledge in microbiology (bacteriology or molecular biology) is an advantage, but not required -Familiarity with relevant medical-technical equipment and IT systems is beneficial Strong emphasis will be placed on personal suitability and willingness to take responsibility.
