Assignment Description
An experienced Senior Android Application Developer is sought for an exciting opportunity within the automotive infotainment domain.
The role requires both strong technical capabilities and a proactive mindset.
You’ll join a dynamic and evolving development environment, where your ability to navigate ambiguity and drive progress will be essential.
You will be part of an Application team focused on the development and maintenance of infotainment systems.
With existing products already in market and more on the way, there’s a strong need for structured, scalable, and configurable solutions to support continuous updates.
The role involves interaction with a wide range of stakeholders and collaboration in agile teams, with clear prioritization support via dedicated Product Owners.
Responsibilities
As a Senior Android Developer, your key responsibilities include:
- Designing and implementing native platform software for AOSP-based infotainment systems
- Developing Android applications using Kotlin and Java
- Ensuring high-quality, maintainable, and scalable code
- Collaborating with global cross-functional teams to define and refine features
- Troubleshooting and optimizing system performance
- Participating in architecture discussions, code reviews, and continuous process/tooling improvements
- Utilizing key Android components such as Activities, Services, Content Providers, Broadcast Receivers, and Intents
Required Qualifications
- M.Sc. in Computer Science or equivalent professional experience
- 5+ years of hands-on Android development, preferably within the automotive or infotainment sector
- Strong proficiency in Kotlin, Java, and Android Studio
- Deep experience with native AOSP development, including Soong/Make build systems
- Solid understanding of Android SDK and platform architecture
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or in a team
- Experience in fast-paced, agile environments
Preferred Skills
- Familiarity with Android Runtime Resource Overlays (RRO), privileged apps, and system-level permissions
- Experience with automotive communication protocols and/or QNX
- Proficiency with AI-assisted development tools
- Proficiency in Mandarin Chinese (for cross-regional collaboration)
- A valid driver's license (for in-vehicle testing)
