At RAN COTS Char & Arch System management we describe and specify the wanted solutions for Ericssons COTS Architecture and drive the Characteristics of our COTS solution.
We are growing our investments to support 5G and 6G deployments and as part of this we are looking for an experienced SW developer that will join our COTS Architecture and Characteristics group in Stockholm, Sweden.
We are looking for a candidate that will accelerate product development with new fresh thinking, challenge our current architecture and take advantage of open-source solutions with active engagement. Our main challenge is full stack virtualization of the CR gNB for 5G and 6G in terms of footprint, characteristics, deployment flexibility.
What you will do
• Lead the architecture definition and proactively drive the development of the Ericsson Cloud RAN gNB hands on
• Architect, Design, Build, Test and Deploy software
• Pedagogically educate the organization about the current and strategic direction of the CR gNB architecture
• Evolve the architecture and find the sweet spot between scalability, resilience, and performance
• Actively drive and lead studies in and beyond the CR gNB
The skills you bring
• Passion for SW Development!
• Strong programming skills, preferably in either C, C++, Python, Go, Rust or similar
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• A strong collaborative attitude
• BSc or MSc level in a SW related field
Other preferred qualifications
• Knowledge and skills working with CNCF technologies, Cloud Native core design principles and Kubernetes (microservice architecture, Kubernetes platform e.g. pods, containers, services etc.)
• Understanding of tools for installing and managing Kubernetes applications (Helm)
• Understanding of container internals (CRI-O), Linux kernel control groups and container network interfaces.
• Understanding of Linux Kernel Internals and debugging Linux Operating System
• Knowledge with 5G NR and LTE 3GPP standards
• Understanding of system performance and willing to learn new technologies and performance tools in this area
