About the Role:
Our client, a global leader in robotics and automation solutions, is seeking a Sourcing and Supply Chain Management (SCM) Risk Specialist to join their direct materials sourcing team in Västerås.
With a strong footprint in the automotive and industrial sectors, the company exports over 90% of its production, serving major automotive manufacturers and diverse industrial clients.
In this role, you will strategically manage one or more commodity areas, with responsibility for ensuring material availability, cost efficiency, and supplier performance.
You will also play a key role in operational development and supply chain risk management across defined projects and programs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Sourcing & Commodity Management:
- Manage direct materials procurement for assigned commodities
- Drive total cost optimization and long-term material availability
- Build and maintain strong supplier relationships
- Supplier & Contract Management:
- Lead contract negotiations and manage supplier agreements
- Conduct Request for Quotations (RFQs) and analyze proposals
- Monitor supplier performance and initiate improvement plans
- SCM Risk Management:
- Support SCM risk assessment and mitigation in key projects and programs
- Contribute to the development of SCM risk processes and methodologies
- Cross-functional Collaboration & Development:
- Engage with internal stakeholders in product development, quality, and operations
- Support new material and supplier implementation processes
- Participate in lifecycle supply chain planning for new products
- Process & Performance Optimization:
- Contribute to the development of high-performing supply chain operations
- Lead or support initiatives aimed at improving competitiveness and efficiency
- Define and track annual cost savings targets
- Global & Regional Engagement:
- Participate in global and regional commodity teams
- Ensure compliance with company policies and initiatives
Required Qualifications:
- University degree in Technology, Economics, or related field
- Minimum of 2–3 years of experience in SCM, product development, component technology, or quality
- Strong negotiation, contract management, and supplier development skills
- Analytical, solution-oriented mindset with attention to detail
- Proven ability to work independently and cross-functionally in a dynamic environment
- Fluency in Swedish and English (both required); additional languages are a plus

- Contract negotiation & supplier relationship management
- Risk management processes in supply chain contexts
- Experience in global sourcing and international supplier communication
- Process optimization and performance tracking
- Hands-on participation in product lifecycle and cost-saving initiatives
