Assignment Overview
We are looking for a Senior Data Platform Engineer to support and enhance a distributed real-time streaming platform.
This position is well-suited for someone with solid production experience in Apache Kafka, Kubernetes, microservices, and cloud infrastructure such as Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or Microsoft Azure.
You will play a critical role in designing, deploying, and optimizing scalable, real-time data pipelines in a cloud-native environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, deploy, and manage Kafka clusters in GCP or Azure environments
- Operate and maintain Kafka on Kubernetes using Helm, Operators, or custom tooling
- Build and maintain real-time data pipelines and microservices in collaboration with cross-functional teams
- Monitor and optimize Kafka performance, reliability, and availability
- Implement and manage Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) for automation and repeatability
- Ensure security, compliance, and operational resilience of the streaming platform
Required Qualifications
- Strong hands-on experience with Apache Kafka in production environments
- Proficiency with Kubernetes (GKE, AKS, or on-premise)
- Solid understanding of cloud environments, particularly GCP and/or Azure
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and modern DevOps practices
- Programming skills in Python, Java, or similar languages
- Experience with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana)
- Strong communication and documentation skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Confluent Platform or Confluent Cloud
- Proficiency in Terraform, Helm, or other Infrastructure-as-Code tools
- Background in stream processing technologies (Kafka Streams, Flink, RocksDB, RabbitMQ Streams, etc.)
- Relevant certifications (e.g., GCP, Azure, CKA, CKAD)
- Experience working in agile, cross-functional teams
