Currently, around 150 people are working across our metro projects, including 4 team members in Quantity Surveying. Maurizio Buttarelli, Chief Quantity Surveyor for both Metro projects, has extensive experience in the civil engineering sector and a strong background in international markets. He is originally from Italy and has been living and working in Sweden for the past 8 years. Maurizio is a dedicated and competent leader who always makes time for his team. He is known for his hands-on approach, clear communication, and genuine commitment to supporting others while keeping everything running smoothly.

Key responsibilities as Quantity Surveyor

As a Quantity Surveyor at Itinera, you ensure the efficient management and control of costs on the construction projects, focusing on accurate work valuations, cost monitoring, and compliance with financial and contractual requirements. • Managing payments to contractors and subcontractors in accordance with contract terms and the progress of work.
  • Liaising with suppliers and contractors to evaluate proposals and ensure accurate execution of works accounting.
  • Ensuring compliance with contractual provisions, industry guidelines, and legal requirements in all financial documentation.
  • Evaluating change orders (ÄTA works), assessing quantity and cost implications resulting from modifications or variations.
  • Preparing invoicing and payment documents, including Internal Payment Certificates (IPC) and records for client billing.

Qualifications

  • A degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Hands-on experience in construction projects, particularly in infrastructure.
  • Proficiency in cost estimation software, strong understanding of volume calculations, and familiarity with relevant construction standards (e.g., AMA and MER systems).
  • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to assess and evaluate financial and contractual data accurately.
