Senior Network Engineer – Routing & Switching (Cisco)

Location: Södertälje or Göteborg

Start date: ASAP

Duration: 6–12 months (with possible extension)

About the Assignment

Soros Consulting is seeking a highly experienced Network Engineer with deep expertise in Cisco Routing & Switching for a key assignment with a global client in the infrastructure and technology sector.

You will be responsible for the design, implementation, and continuous development of advanced network solutions in a demanding, high-availability environment with strict security and performance requirements.

This is a strategic role where you will collaborate closely with internal teams and stakeholders to shape and secure the client's core network infrastructure.

Responsibilities

Design and implementation of LAN, WAN, and Data Center networks

Configuration, optimization, and troubleshooting of Cisco network infrastructure

Routing protocol management (BGP, OSPF) and WAN technologies (IPVPN)

Documentation of network solutions (HLD, LLD, RA)

Cross-team collaboration with product and infrastructure units

Adherence to established ITSM, CMDB, and governance processes

Ensuring compliance with network and security standards

Required Qualifications

Minimum 12 years of experience in enterprise network engineering

Proven hands-on expertise in Cisco Routing & Switching

Certifications: CCNP (minimum), ideally CCIE

Solid knowledge of:

BGP, OSPF

STP, VLAN, Dot1Q

IPVPN WAN technologies

Experience with at least one of the following:

FlexPod

Metro Cluster

vSAN / HCI

VXLAN or equivalent network virtualization technologies

Nice to Have

Experience with Cisco SD-WAN

Knowledge of network automation

Background in large-scale global IT environments

Familiarity with ITIL or similar frameworks

Additional Information

Language: Fluent English (written and spoken) is required. Swedish is a plus.

The assignment is full-time, with work primarily based in Södertälje or Göteborg. Hybrid work is possible based on agreement with the client.
