Engineering Manager, Industrialization

Role Overview

As Engineering Manager, Industrialization, you will lead the development and optimization of manufacturing processes, equipment, and production lines for our BESS products. You will be responsible for developing and executing the company’s industrialization strategy, ensuring seamless product launches, optimizing production, and driving continuous improvement across all manufacturing activities.

Key Responsibilities

· Industrialization Strategy: Develop and implement the industrialization strategy for BESS products, aligning with business objectives and growth targets.

· Process & Equipment Development: Design and implement manufacturing processes for BESS components (battery modules, racks, inverters) and full systems, focusing on efficiency and safety.

· Equipment Design & Selection: Lead the design, specification, and procurement of custom manufacturing equipment (e.g., assembly lines, testing rigs).

· Scale-up: Lead the scale-up of manufacturing processes from prototype to full-scale production, ensuring quality, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.

· Manufacturing Feasibility: Collaborate with R&D teams to optimize designs for manufacturability (DFM), conducting cost analyses and process simulations.

· Standards & Compliance: Ensure processes comply with EU safety, environmental, and quality standards (e.g., ISO 9001, CE directives).

· Cross-Functional Leadership: Partner with engineering, supply chain, and quality teams to resolve production bottlenecks and drive continuous improvement.

· Documentation: Create detailed process plans, PFMEAs, control plans, and SOPs for all manufacturing stages 1].

Required Qualifications

· Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.

· 7+ years of experience in industrialization, process engineering, or manufacturing leadership, preferably in energy storage, automotive, or high-tech industries.

· Proven track record in designing and scaling production equipment (e.g., automated assembly lines, welding systems, testing stations).

· Strong knowledge of DFM, Lean Manufacturing, and Six Sigma methodologies.

· Proficiency with CAD tools (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks) and ERP/MES systems (e.g., SAP).

· Familiarity with battery module/pack assembly processes (e.g., cell stacking, laser welding, thermal management integration).

· Fluent in English; proficiency in other European languages (e.g., German, French) is a plus.
