About Us:

Ytsab Defence AB is an innovative Swedish defence company developing next-generation electromagnetic weapon systems. We are currently involved in several high-profile EU-funded R&D projects and are looking for a talented and hands-on Laboratory Engineer to join our core technical team.

About the Role:

As our Laboratory Engineer, you will play a key role in the daily operation of our R&D lab. You will manage and support experimental setups, instrumentation, and data acquisition – working closely with our engineers on cutting-edge defence technologies.

Responsibilities:

• Set up and maintain experimental rigs, test benches, and instrumentation
• Conduct lab tests and measurements on electromagnetic systems
• Document procedures, results, and technical findings for internal and EU project reporting
• Collaborate with engineers to troubleshoot, improve, and refine prototypes
• Ensure a safe, organized, and efficient lab environment

Qualifications:

• Degree or vocational training in electronics, mechatronics, or applied physics
• Practical experience in lab environments (R&D, prototyping, or test labs)
• Strong hands-on skills: soldering, wiring, measurements, using oscilloscopes/multimeters
• Ability to write clear technical documentation in English
• Flexible, methodical, and self-driven with problem-solving mindset
• Bonus: Familiarity with EU research projects or defence technologies
