Objectives & Responsibilities
- Map and inventory third places (shared/communal spaces) in the Malmö Generate District.
- Investigate accessibility structures to third places and identify “keys” for activation and shared use.
- Propose principles for use of third spaces and lab environments.
- Recommend facilities and environment concepts for prototyping a shared lab in the area.
- Identify and validate stakeholders and organizations interested in joining the lab.
- Develop a proposal for:
- Lab content and physical setup
- Participant organizations
- Business model and organizational model
- Run and evaluate 2–3 prototype activities in the lab environment.
- Deliver results in a reusable and scalable format, ready for stakeholder presentation and broader communication.
Expected Deliverables
- A detailed inventory of third places in the area
- Clear interest from local stakeholders regarding lab participation
- A concrete proposal for a physical lab including:
- Setup, purpose, access model
- Involved organizations
- Business and governance model
- A tested prototype with documented activities and results
Must-Have Qualifications
- Experience in placemaking and urban development
- Deep understanding of the real estate industry
- Ability to structure complex, open-ended challenges
- Skill in activating physical environments and connecting to digital interfaces
- Strong capacity for iterative, co-creative work with high innovation potential
- Proven ability to deliver both strategic insights and concrete material
- Familiarity with innovation systems and entrepreneurial ecosystems
Preferred Qualifications
- International experience in similar projects
- Experience in/with the public sector
