Arbetsbeskrivning

At Husqvarna Group, innovation and sustainability go hand in hand. We are constantly pushing the boundaries to develop smarter, more efficient, and more sustainable products for the future. Through our commitment to Sustainovate—our approach to innovating with sustainability at the core—we are transforming the way we design and deliver solutions for the forest industry and urban environments.

Now, our Power & Drive Systems development department is looking for a new colleague to join us on this exciting journey. We develop next-generation handheld products where performance, usability, and environmental responsibility are key. At the heart of these products is the powertrain—and that’s where you come in.

About the Role

As a Design Engineer within mechatronics, you’ll be part of a highly motivated team in the Handheld R&D Power Systems division. You’ll play a key role in developing our future products and electric motors, contributing to both new innovations and improvements to existing solutions.

  • Design electric motor components
  • 2D and 3D modeling (Catia & SmarTeam)
  • Drive new development and enhance existing products
  • Collaborate across teams and with suppliers to support project deliveries

About You

You’re curious, driven, and passionate about technical details. You enjoy working independently but thrive in a collaborative environment. You’re a strong communicator, a confident decision-maker, and you bring integrity and inclusivity to your work. We’re looking for someone with a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and a background in mechanical engineering with a focus on mechatronics—someone who understands electronics and electromechanical components and has some years of experience in the field.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience testing electric motors
  • Familiarity with motor controller development
  • Calibration and tuning of motor management systems
  • Knowledge of light metal design, machining, and molding tools
  • Understanding of electric motor manufacturing processes
  • Experience developing high-volume products

Here’s how Josef Emme, hiring manager, describes the team:

“In our team, you will have great freedom to manage your work, with me and your colleagues as support. We believe in the ability to drive development forward in our various projects through self-leadership and responsibility. I will give you the opportunity and trust to influence your work.”

You’ll be based in Huskvarna and we see great value in being physically present in the office at least three days a week. This role offers some flexibility, but being on site enables stronger collaboration and a better understanding of the business.

Winning Through Culture

At Husqvarna, you'll find an international, inclusive, and diverse environment with plenty of opportunities for personal and professional growth. We believe our differences are our strengths, and we live a culture based on three pillars: We’re Bold, We’re Dedicated, and We Care.
