Maintenance Mechanic – Hydrogen Plant

As a Maintenance Mechanic in our hydrogen plant, you will be part of a highly skilled team dedicated to keeping our mechanical systems operating safely, reliably, and efficiently. This hands-on role involves the maintenance and repair of rotating equipment, pneumatic systems, piping, and other essential infrastructure that supports hydrogen production and storage. Working within a structured maintenance framework, you’ll troubleshoot issues, carry out scheduled servicing, and follow technical documentation to ensure high plant availability and performance.

You’ll apply industry-standard practices—including bolt tightening procedures in accordance with EN 1591-4—and conduct detailed visual inspections to detect mechanical wear or early signs of failure. Collaboration is key in this role: you'll work closely with control room personnel, engineers, and other departments to ensure maintenance tasks are completed safely and with minimal impact on plant operations. Your attention to detail, mechanical expertise, and ability to work systematically will directly contribute to plant safety and reliability.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair pumps, compressors, and motors to support continuous hydrogen production

• Service and troubleshoot pneumatic systems for process control and actuation

• Inspect and maintain industrial piping, valves, and joints to prevent leaks and ensure integrity

• Execute preventive and corrective maintenance in line with established schedules

• Use technical manuals and maintenance systems for diagnostics, part replacement, and reporting

• Perform bolt tightening to EN 1591-4 standards to ensure safety in high-pressure systems

• Conduct visual inspections to identify wear, misalignment, or mechanical faults early

• Support mechanical lifting tasks using appropriate tools and safety procedures

• Collaborate with plant operations teams to coordinate work with minimal disruption

Qualifications

We are seeking a highly skilled and reliable Maintenance Mechanic with a strong background in mechanical maintenance and industrial operations. The ideal candidate should have solid experience in mechanical maintenance within process-driven industries such as food production, water treatment, power generation, chemical manufacturing, or similar high-tech industrial settings. A high school diploma or equivalent is required, along with experience in maintaining rotating equipment, pneumatic systems, piping, and related infrastructure. A deep understanding of safety procedures and industry standards, is essential for ensuring safe and efficient plant operations.

Skills and Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent

• Solid experience in mechanical maintenance, preferably in process-driven or industrial environments

• Strong hands-on experience with pumps, compressors, motors, and pneumatic systems

• Proficient in maintaining industrial piping, valves, and mechanical joints

• Skilled in bolt tightening in line with industry standards (e.g., EN 1591-4)

• Ability to conduct visual inspections to identify wear, misalignment, or leaks

• Familiarity with maintenance scheduling systems and technical manuals

• Experience in mechanical lifting operations and equipment handling

• Strong understanding of safety protocols in high-pressure or hazardous environments

• Ability to coordinate with cross-functional teams to minimize production downtime
