ARBETSUPPGIFTER
As a Trading Operator you will be responsible for executing daily trades in nonferrous metal futures (primarily copper and aluminium), ensuring compliance with internal policies and market regulations. You will conduct market analysis, monitor metal positions, and maintain pricing data. Your insights and actions will help Elcowire manage price risk and optimize trading outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute futures trades in nonferrous metals according to group policy and strategy.
- Analyze trends in metals and energy markets to identify pricing risks and opportunities.
- Maintain up-to-date daily prices and rates for internal use.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders across the Elcowire Group, including Customer Service, SCM, and Finance.
- Monitor and report metal positions and trading status.
- Maintain strong relationships with brokers and banks to stay ahead of market developments.
- Approve and administer broker contracts and settlements.
- Support the Finance team with currency hedging related to metal pricing.
- Contribute to monthly closing processes related to trading positions.
- Act as backup to the Group Metal Hedging Officer.
KVALIFIKATIONER
- A bachelors degree in finance or a similar qualification.
- At least 3 years of experience in commodity trading (metals, energy, or agricultural products) from industry or banking.
- Solid understanding of futures markets, supply chains, and spot trading dynamics.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills with a high level of accuracy.
- Proficiency in ERP systems; SAP experience is an advantage.
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative spirit.
- Fluent in English; German is a plus.
