About the role As our Senior Software Engineer, you will be responsible for the development, maintenance, and evolution of our client-side software agent - written in Go - responsible for system inventory on Linux and macOS. The agent communicates securely with our PostgreSQL-backed backend via a REST API and plays a crucial role in our product offering.

You will collaborate effectively across teams, contribute to planning and problem-solving discussions, and support junior developers through code review and mentorship as needed.

This role is expected to grow into a tech lead position, offering the opportunity to guide technical decisions, mentor team members, and play a central role in shaping impactful software architecture and services.

Responsibilities You will design, write, and maintain idiomatic, efficient Go code for our Linux/macOS system agent. Furthermore, you will also:

• Extend functionality related to data collection, system integration, and API communication. 
• Contribute to architectural decisions and system improvements. 
• Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks. 
• Refactor legacy components in line with modern software practices.
• Write robust unit and integration tests. Document code and behavior clearly.
• Participate actively in code reviews and ensure changes are production-ready.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience with Go (Golang), including concurrency, memory management, and best practices.
• Deep understanding of Unix-based systems, especially Linux and macOS - file systems, processes, permissions, and system APIs.
• Strong foundation in software engineering principles, version control (Git), testing, and documentation.
• Comfortable with CI/CD pipelines, secure coding standards, and structured debugging/problem-solving.
• Solid understanding of relational databases and experience with SQL.
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset for working in distributed teams.
• Strong proficiency in written and spoken English, and preferably Swedish.

• Experience developing agents, daemons, or system utilities on Linux/macOS.
• Familiarity with REST API design.
• Experience in mentoring or leading small development teams.
