Description

We are seeking a Senior Test Engineer with deep expertise in Python-based test automation and strong working knowledge of both Robot Framework and Pytest. This role is instrumental in leading the migration of legacy test cases from Robot Framework to Pytest across multiple automotive platforms.

In addition to test execution and development, the Senior Engineer will coordinate test strategy, lead governance meetings, manage stakeholder collaboration, and ensure daily operations run smoothly without disruption. You will work closely with software developers, system integrators, and test teams to deliver reliable, maintainable, and fully validated test cases focused on embedded car systems such as infotainment, connectivity, diagnostics, and smartphone integration.

Requirements

Requirements:

• 5+ years in test automation with strong Python programming skills.
• Hands-on experience with both Robot Framework and Pytest, including migration work.
• Deep understanding of test automation for embedded or automotive domains.
• Experience validating infotainment systems, diagnostics, power modes, Bluetooth/Wi-Fi, OTA updates, and Android Auto / Apple CarPlay integrations.
• Familiarity with parameterized testing, test data generation, and modular design principles.
• Strong communication and organizational skills to lead stakeholder meetings and governance.

Nice to have:

• Exposure to CI/CD environments, preferably Jenkins.
• Experience with test case lifecycle management tools (e.g., TestRail, Zephyr, Jama).
• Knowledge of vehicle communication protocols (CAN, LIN, Ethernet) is a plus.

Job responsibilities

• Lead the migration of ~1700 test cases from Robot Framework to Pytest on automotive platforms.
• Maintain test case integrity and functionality across component and domain integration levels.
• Ensure full validation of migrated test cases through structured handshakes with test case owners.
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders for test coverage, feature updates, and platform readiness.
• Organize and lead governance meetings, planning sessions, and prioritization workflows.
• Actively troubleshoot test failures, maintain test coverage metrics, and improve automation frameworks.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to a small team of mid-level test engineers.
• Ensure test automation aligns with Python best practices, modular test design, and CI/CD compatibility.
