Do you want to take the lead in shaping how SSAB works with SAP and cloud technology? We're now looking for a skilled and driven SAP S/4HANA Technical Lead to establish a new Technical Service function. This role will play a central part in shaping SSAB’s technical capabilities in connection with SAP and cloud-based solutions, supporting current programs and future operational services. Location Helsinki.

About the position

The SAP S/4HANA Technical Lead will be responsible for building and leading a Technical Service function at SSAB. This includes establishing processes and structures for Landscape Management, Release/Change Management, Incident Management, Integration Management, and Security Management, with a foundation in basis services covering all SAP solutions across the organization.

You will play a pivotal role in connecting Group IT with SSAB’s major transformation programs, including the Aurora Program - a key initiative driving the development of business processes and IT systems for our new fossil-free mini-mills.

To succeed in this role, we believe you are proactive and driven, with a “can-do” attitude and the ability to step confidently into a fast-moving environment with multiple active programs. You are used to driving alignment between business needs and technical solutions, and you take pride in supporting and coaching colleagues to succeed.

Main responsibilities

• Establish a new Technical Service function, supporting all SAP-related areas.
• Create and develop the technical organization aligned with future business and IT needs.
• Manage and optimize SAP RISE, SAP BTP, and other relevant platforms to meet business needs.
• Manage relationships with partners and external consultants, ensuring high-quality support and service delivery.
• Provide technical leadership to internal teams and promote continuous development.
• Ensure successful implementation, integration, and long-term management of SAP and non-SAP solutions.

About You

• Demonstrated experience from leading or contributing to projects or programs involving the implementation and adoption of modern SAP solutions such as SAP S/4HANA and SAP BTP in cloud environments.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to build and structure new functions, teams and processes. Previous experience in a managerial role within an industrial or manufacturing environment is highly valued.
• 10+ years of experience in delivering technical services and projects in complex environments.
• Excellent communicator with strong presentation skills and fluent English, confident working in a global and cross-functional environment.
• Strategic mindset with the ability to see the big picture while also understanding the technical foundations of business solutions.
• Experience in managing platform services and working with external service providers.
