Functional Analyst – Digital Transformation in Smart Manufacturing

We are seeking a structured and business-minded Functional Analyst for a long-term assignment supporting the establishment of a new, advanced robotics and automation hub in Västerås. As part of a strategic transformation in European production, this role will contribute to the development of a digital-first, data-driven manufacturing environment.

The aim is to modernize and automate production through smart systems, real-time insights, and optimized workflows—laying the digital foundation for a fully connected, flexible, and efficient production landscape.

Role Overview

As a Functional Analyst, you will act as a key interface between business operations and technical development. You’ll collaborate closely with engineering, IT, and automation teams to identify process gaps, gather requirements, propose improvements, and help define digital solutions aligned with long-term production goals.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working at the intersection of process analysis, digital innovation, and system integration within manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities

• Gather, analyze, and document requirements for data integration and mapping within production lines
• Develop process maps and identify opportunities for process improvement and automation
• Provide strategic input and practical support in projects related to digitalization and smart production
• Act as an advisor to cross-functional teams working on automation initiatives, particularly in production cells
• Support the implementation of business system integrations, with a particular focus on systems such as SAP

What We’re Looking For

• Strong background in requirements analysis, preferably with experience in ERP systems such as SAP
• Solid understanding of business workflows and digital processes in a manufacturing or industrial setting
• Analytical thinker with strong communication skills and a structured way of working
• Self-driven and comfortable navigating complex technical and organizational landscapes

Highly Meritorious Experience

• Knowledge of OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) and production performance monitoring
• Scripting abilities in tools such as Python and/or Excel VBA
• Familiarity with the Microsoft Power Platform (Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate)

• Start date: 16 June 2025
• End date: 31 December 2025
• Location: Västerås
• Workload: Full-time (40 hours/week)
• Languages: Swedish and English (professional proficiency required)
