Role: Protection Systems Engineer / Relay Protection Engineer

Remote Work: 50%

Extension Option: Possibility to extend the assignment for 1 additional year

Responsibilities

The consultant will focus on issues related to protection systems and systems for disturbance data acquisition and analysis.

Tasks include:

• Performing disturbance and fault disconnection analyses
• Preparing technical descriptions for protection systems in projects
• Reviewing studies, protection reports, and design documentation
• Ensuring compliance with Technical Descriptions (TB) and Technical Guidelines (TR)
• Participating in FAT (Factory Acceptance Tests) and occasionally SAT (Site Acceptance Tests)
• Attending technical meetings
• Coordinating additional resources within the unit
• Calculating and setting relay protection parameters using Svenska kraftnät’s tools

Mandatory Requirements

The consultant must meet all the following criteria:

• Master’s degree in Electrical Power Engineering, Energy Systems, or Electrical Engineering
• Valid ESA Safety Training – Skilled level
• At least 10 years of experience in calculating and setting relay protection for meshed transmission networks ≥130 kV
• At least 10 years of experience supporting protection/control systems in transformer station projects (130–400 kV)
• At least 10 years of experience in disturbance analysis for directly grounded networks (130–400 kV)
• Experience with multiple generations of protection relays (numerical, static, electromechanical)
• 10 years of experience using CAPE and PSS/E calculation software
• Proficient in Swedish and English, both spoken and written.
