We are Pigs Will Fly Studios!

We are an indie studio in Jönköping with big ambitions and a true passion for games. We are working on an exciting new game based on an exclusive IP and are now looking for new employees to join our team. As the studio is newly started, you have a unique opportunity to become part of the core team, to shape the company and really make your mark. Together we are brave, creative and ambitious. The role

Pigs Will Fly is seeking a Concept Artist to join our development team.

As a Concept Artist you will play a key role in shaping the visuals of our games, contributing significantly to our shared success.

Your primary responsibility will be producing environment and prop concepts that guide and inspire our 3D artists during the process of developing new levels and environments. A big part of your role will involve conducting in-depth research, gathering reference materials, and staying closely aligned with our art lead to ensure consistency and vision.

You'll be part of a skilled and creative art team, where sharing ideas and expertise is encouraged.

As a team we are going to work with an agile structure and mindset, where every member is part of the creative process, so being able to effectively communicate and provide and receive feedback is essential.

 

What you'll do

  • Develop refined, production-friendly environmental art concepts

  • Create rendered mood concepts guiding design and level artists

  • Deliver production-ready art to our 3D artists

  • Research and find references needed to carry out the daily tasks

  • Demonstrate expertise in conveying form and shape in 2D

  • Collaborate closely with our art lead and 3D artists, fostering effective communication and iteration

 

Required qualifications

  • At least 4 years of experience in developing video games as a Concept Artist

  • Excellent knowledge of perspective and expertise in conveying form and shape in 2D

  • Photoshop

  • A passion for games

  • Excellent knowledge of Swedish and English, both written and spoken

  • As a person - you are proactive, flexible and organized, you enjoy collaborating with others and also know how to give and receive constructive feedback

 

Bonus qualifications

  • Higher education / Bachelor’s Degree in Game Development or equivalent

  • Experience using 3D software like Zbrush, Blender, Maya, or equivalent

  • Experience with Texturing using Substance 3D Painter or equivalent

  • Experience with the Unreal 5 development ecosystem

  • Shipped at least 1 AA game

  • Knowledge of agile workflows and kanban

We are following the policy of office first. However, a hybrid work model is also in the works to make it possible for people to work some days from home, and also to make commuting to Jönköping easier from other cities in the region.
