Arbetsbeskrivning
We are seeking a skilled Software Safety Engineer to join our Powertrain division.
In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the functional safety of embedded software used in powertrain control systems, in compliance with ISO 26262.
You will work closely with system engineers, software architects, and test teams to develop, analyze, and validate safety-critical software solutions that drive next-generation electrified and combustion-based powertrain technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform functional safety activities across the software lifecycle (from concept to SOP) according to ISO 26262.
- Develop and maintain software safety requirements and ensure traceability to system and hardware safety goals.
- Conduct software safety analyses (e.g., FMEA, FTA, SW-STA).
- Support software architectural design with respect to safety mechanisms (e.g., ASIL decomposition, freedom from interference).
- Participate in software integration and verification activities, ensuring coverage of safety requirements.
- Coordinate with system safety, hardware, and quality teams to align safety concepts and safety cases.
- Contribute to the creation and maintenance of safety work products, such as Safety Plans, Safety Cases, and Impact Analyses.
- Support safety audits and assessments (internal and external).
- Collaborate with suppliers and internal teams to ensure alignment on safety goals and process conformance.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering, Computer Science, Mechatronics, or a related field.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in embedded software development or safety engineering within the automotive domain.
- Proven experience with ISO 26262 (at least up to ASIL C, ideally D).
- Experience with safety-related software development (e.g., MISRA C, AUTOSAR, model-based design).
- Familiarity with embedded microcontrollers and communication protocols (CAN, LIN, FlexRay).
- Understanding of safety mechanisms in powertrain applications such as torque control, E-motor control, or transmission control.
- Experience using tools such as Vector DaVinci, PTC Integrity, IBM DOORS, or similar for requirements and safety management.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work cross-functionally in a multi-disciplinary team.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with Adaptive AUTOSAR or Classic AUTOSAR platforms.
- Knowledge of powertrain electrification (e.g., hybrid or full EV systems).
- Experience with model-based development (e.g., Simulink, TargetLink).
- Knowledge of SPICE or ASPICE-compliant development environments
