Arbetsbeskrivning

Scania's R&D department is transforming to become part of TRATON Group R&D. TRATON is a group of strong brands with a shared mission: transforming transportation together to create the future of sustainable transport solutions. Within TRATON, we include MAN, Scania, Volkswagen Truck & Bus, and International. As part of a global team of industry experts, you get to think bigger, experience more, and reach further. Together, we have the power to transform transportation.

Our values – customer first, respect, team spirit, responsibility, and elimination of waste – are at the heart of everything we do.

Role Summary

Do you want to work in a team where ideas turn into reality quickly and where your software can be tested in a truck the same day it's written? We are now looking for a new team member to join our dynamic group working with the electric propulsion system at Traton. In this role, you will be part of a skilled and diverse team developing advanced control and safety functions for electric vehicles. Our environment is agile, collaborative, and hands-on, allowing you to contribute from day one while continuously growing your skills in software, control, and system development.

Job Responsibilities

As a part of our team, you will work with developing and fine-tuning control algorithms that govern torque control, drivability, and hardware protection for electric vehicles. Your daily tasks will involve modeling and simulation, implementing software changes, and verifying functionality both in virtual environments and in real trucks. Collaboration with cross-functional teams is a natural part of your work, and you will regularly participate in hands-on testing, including expeditions to challenging environments like northern Sweden and southern Europe.

Who You Are

· You have a master’s degree in mechatronics, electrical engineering, systems engineering, or a related field.

· You have experience or coursework in control theory, electric motor control, signal processing, embedded programming, or hydraulics.

· You are comfortable working with tools such as MATLAB and Simulink for modeling and simulation.

· You are adaptable and solution-oriented when faced with new challenges or late changes.

· You communicate fluently in English; Swedish is a plus.

· You either have prior experience in embedded software development or are a recent graduate with a strong drive to learn.

We welcome applicants from all backgrounds – your unique experience and perspectives is valuable to us.

This Is Us

We are a diverse team of engineers working with electric machine control, safety functions, and Hardware protection for Traton's electric propulsion system. Our work blends control theory, software development, and real-world testing—often within the same day. We value collaboration, curiosity, and fast feedback loops. As part of our team, you’ll get to see your ideas come to life quickly and contribute directly to the shift toward sustainable transport. Our yearly expeditions to challenging test environments in both cold and warm climates keep us connected to the real-world impact of our work.

Within TRATON Group R&D, you are an important part of something bigger. Joining us means gaining access to the ins and outs of the entire transportation industry. As part of a global team of industry experts, you get to think bigger, experience more, and reach further. Being bigger also means being stronger. Together with our brands, we have the collective power to transform transportation.

We Offer

We offer a dynamic, flexible workplace with hybrid work options, including Scania Sergel and Midway hubs. With a structured development plan and courses, TRATON Group R&D supports your career growth both locally and internationally.
