About SeaPattern
Enabling a world where the full potential of hydropower is unlocked!
At SeaPattern, we’re enabling the transition to renewable energy by unlocking the full potential of hydropower.
Our modular, floating hydrokinetic turbines are placed in an optimized microgrid, increasing the energy output of existing hydropower plants without new infrastructure or environmental harm.
The system is scalable, affordable, and non-invasive.
Our technology also delivers sustainable power in remote areas and mission-critical energy solutions for disaster relief and defense.
Founded by scientists, engineers, and innovators, we’re now entering an exciting new phase—bringing our breakthrough technology to market.
We are looking to expand our team with brilliant minds who want to develop our technology and join our mission, and are now looking for an Electrical Engineer.
In this role, you get to be our power electronics guru, leading the development of crucial components in our electrical systems.
You’ll ensure our technology meets grid compliance standards through hands-on prototyping, simulations, and testing.
This is your chance to work at the intersection of theory and real-world application, solving complex challenges and shaping the future of our power systems with your expertise.
Your main responsibilities will be to:
- Develop, integrate and test power electronics components, including controllers, rectifiers, and inverters.
- Ensure seamless grid integration, optimizing the system for stable and efficient energy distribution.
- Collaborate with the engineering team to ensure seamless system integration and overall performance.
- Develop and integrate MPPT strategies for hydrokinetic turbines, ensuring optimal power extraction in varying environmental conditions and maximizing the energy efficiency of the system.
- Create simulation models for electrical systems using tools like Simulink to analyze, model, and optimize performance of the turbine's electrical components, including power electronics and control systems.
- Support generator selection and requirements definition, ensuring compatibility with power conversion and grid integration needs.
We are looking for the following qualifications:
- M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems Engineering, Energy Systems Engineering or closely related fields.
- Approximetly 5 years of experience working with Electrical Engineering, with a focus on power electronics, energy conversion, or renewable energy systems.
- Proven track record working with hands-on prototype development; building, testing, and iterating on early-stage prototypes to ensure functionality aligns with design goals and performance requirements.
- Understanding of grid integration and power distribution systems.
- Strong knowledge of three-phase power systems.
- Proficiency with simulation software (e.g., MATLAB, Simulink).
- Excellent collaboration skills with experience working with multi-disciplinary engineering teams.
- Great communication skills, fluent in English in speaking and writing
- Experience working in marine or offshore environments is a big plus
