WHAT YOU’LL DO

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Lead SAP Software Engineer to drive technical excellence in our SAP Platform Engineering team. As a Lead Software Engineer, you will drive technical initiatives, lead software development projects, and ensure the delivery of high-quality software solutions.

You will also oversee the technical direction of projects, mentor team members, and ensure best practices in software development. You will play a crucial role in enhancing collaboration and performance across the team. The ideal candidate has demonstrated experience in technical leadership, a deep understanding of software development, and a commitment to continuous improvement.

In addition to the above, your role will involve:

• Leading and overseeing software projects by collaborating closely with Product Managers, Business Experts, and stakeholders to define technical requirements.
• Providing technical guidance and mentoring team members, ensuring high-quality, efficient code and adherence to best practices.
• Designing, developing, and implementing scalable, reliable software solutions that meet project and quality standards. Leading code reviews with constructive feedback to drive continuous code quality improvements, and proactively identifying, diagnosing, and resolving technical issues to optimize performance and reliability.
• Staying informed on emerging technologies and trends, proposing innovative solutions and improvements for the team.
• Developing and maintaining comprehensive documentation of software designs, technical specifications, and processes.
• Leading Agile development activities, including sprint planning, task estimation, and facilitating team activities.
• Fostering a culture of continuous learning and knowledge sharing within the team.

WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH

You will work with Tactical Node and Replenishment Engine products within the Supply Value Stream, which empowers regions and customer groups with strategies, processes, and technology to efficiently deliver products to customers.

WHO YOU ARE

We are looking for people with…

• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Expertise in SAP solutions - design and development.
• Experience in leading and mentoring development teams.
• Strong experience in SAP ABAP Development, object-oriented ABAP along with design patterns.
• Experience in ABAP CDS and AMDPs for effective data modelling and database management, combined with expertise in SAP BTP RAP (RESTful ABAP) and SAP BTP CPI (Cloud Platform Integration) for seamless integrations and event-driven architectures such as Event Mesh and API Management.
• Knowledge on UI/Fiori would be an added advantage.
• Proficiency in unit testing with ABAP Unit and conducting code reviews for maintainable and high-quality code.
• Ability to fulfil a scrum master role, including Agile setup and team coordination.

• Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex technical concepts to a range of stakeholders.
• Experience in story exploration and refinement.
• Ability to troubleshoot independently and drive solutions to completion.
• Collaborative and willing to share knowledge with the team to foster a supportive learning environment.
• Strong background in SAP development technologies, with experience in SAP Cloud platforms (BTP), including Cloud Platform Integration, Fiori, and RESTful ABAP.
• Strong experience in the architecture and design of scalable systems and applications.
