In Range Operations we create optimal preconditions for the business and people to design, develop and manage the IKEA range offer in a connected and optimized IKEA value chain – to deliver growth and enable low cost.

Specialist Functions is one of the departments in Range Operations and hosts several assignments connected to specialists. Now the Specialist Functions is diversifying its skills, and we are growing to get even closer to the product range.

India Way Forward is a long-term direction to exponentially grow IKEA in India and reach our ambitious goals. It is a joint effort of the full value chain of Inter IKEA and INGKA, brought under one clear direction for India 2030. It focuses on – amongst other things – repositioning the IKEA brand, creating a more relevant local range offer, tackling the challenges of compliance and creating new customer meeting points.

We are now building a new team with diverse competence to take the next step in this journey and are looking for 2 Product Requirement Engineers.

In this role you will be reporting to the Compliance and Requirements Manager for Expanding Markets.

Job Description

As Product Requirement Engineer, you will be working to understand, clarify and secure compliance-based requirements for the IKEA range sold in India. You play an important role in addressing the compliance requirements for Indian market in the context of IKEA products.

You will:

• Analyze legal and market specific requirements for IKEA range sold in the Indian market.
• Interact with PRS (Product Requirement Specialist) network, local product compliance teams and other relevant stakeholders, to obtain and secure relevant, required compliance solutions for the IKEA products.
• To know what requirement applies to the specific product and why.
• To clarify the requirements to the engineering functions in Purchasing and IKEA Suppliers, by keeping an open dialogue and solution oriented.
• To capture learnings and actively share knowledge connected to Legal requirements.
• Identify compliance gaps in product documentation and act on it.
• Create additional guidelines needed to secure legal compliance during development or improvement phase of the products.

Qualifications

We believe that you have:

• University Degree in Engineering.
• Several years of experience in product development or creating and documenting legal and market product requirements.
• Proven ability to lead initiatives and drive them from inception to completion within a given scope.
• Strong analytical skills and a passion for detail.
• Excellent skills in coordination and creating clarity.
• Eagerness to share knowledge and able to simplify complex legislations.
• Proficiency in creating networks, working in teams, and engaging others effectively.
• Adaptability in a fast-paced and changing environment.
• Skill at creating additional processes and guidelines to ensure legal compliance.
• Ability to proactively handle safety and quality alarms and implement corrective measures.
• Commitment to sharing legal knowledge with stakeholders and contributing to long-term compliance strategies.
• A passion to understand Local legal requirements and to develop support new and better compliance guidelines.
