The opportunity
Join Hitachi Energy's Grid Automation and Communication business in Västerås as an R&D Electronics/SW Project Leader.
Be part of a dynamic team responsible for developing cutting-edge protection and control products for power generation, transmission, and sub-transmission network applications.
Our innovative products combine both hardware and software, with a strong focus on software development.
You will be leading and managing the execution of complex R&D projects to meet project targets.
Coordinating work of multi-location and cross-functional project teams, you will manage the project from start to closure reporting progress as well as financials to Project Steering Committee.

Lead and Inspire:
Manage and lead complex software and hardware projects, coordinating multi-location and cross-functional teams.
Motivate and monitor internal and external resources to achieve all tasks and milestones.

Quality and Balance:
Ensure product quality while balancing scope, schedule, and resources.

Transparency and Communication:
Manage change requests, unforeseen events, and identified risks with transparency.
Ensure all opportunities are captured and acted upon.

Reporting and Coordination:
Create reports, chair meetings, and coordinate project status communication with the project team, steering committee, and other stakeholders.

Documentation and Compliance:
Ensure the completion and maintenance of all required documentation, paperwork, and records in accordance with company procedures and product development processes.

Continuous Improvement:
Enhance the project execution model to maximize value, minimize waste, and visualize flow.
Your background
- Education: Master’s degree in computer science, electronic engineering, or equivalent, with proven experience in managing product development projects.
- Project Management Expertise: Knowledge and experience in project management tools, preferably in an agile and lean organization, including gate model.
- Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze complex challenges, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Organized and Driven: Flexible, well-organized, and a driven problem solver who takes initiative and delivers on time and according to expectations.
- Team Player: Experience working in international teams with excellent interpersonal skills.
Proficient in English (written and spoken); Swedish is beneficial.
- Certification: PMP Certification is preferred for our more complex projects.
- Effective Communicator: Strong communication skills with proven experience in managing all project stakeholders, from team members to management.
