The Project Manager – Mechanical Design will lead and coordinate technical projects from concept through delivery, ensuring alignment with business objectives, timelines, and quality standards. This role combines strong project management skills with hands-on mechanical design expertise to support engineering activities and provide technical guidance throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:

· Project Management

• Plan, organize, and lead mechanical and mechatronic design projects from initiation to completion following the IMI APQP process.
• Develop project schedules, budgets, and resource plans; monitor progress and adjust as needed.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams including design, manufacturing, procurement, and quality.
• Identify risks and implement mitigation strategies to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery.
• Keep project tracker up to date and bi-weekly prepare and present project status to stakeholders and senior management.

· Mechanical Design Support

• Contribute to mechanical design activities, including concept development, CAD modeling, and design reviews.
• Ensure designs meet functional requirements, manufacturability, and compliance with industry standards.
• Collaborate with design engineers to resolve technical challenges and optimize solutions.
• Support prototype development, testing, and validation phases.

· Collaboration & Communication

• Act as the primary point of contact for project stakeholders.
• Facilitate design reviews and technical discussions.
• Maintain clear documentation of project requirements, design changes, and decisions.

Qualifications & Skills

· Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Experience from project management within mechanical or product development environments.
• Hands-on experience with mechanical design tools (e.g., SolidEdge, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar).
• Experience from rapid prototyping, like 3D-printing in plastics and metal.

· Technical Skills

• Strong understanding of mechanical systems, materials, and manufacturing processes.
• Proficiency in CAD software and familiarity with PLM systems.
• Knowledge of design standards, tolerances, and validation methods.

· Project Management Skills

• Expertise in planning, scheduling, and resource management.
• Familiarity with project management methodologies (Agile, Stage-Gate, or similar).
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

· Soft Skills

• Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
